MOTW - Erwin Schrödinger

Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger, (That’s a lotta names!) who died August 12, 1887, made important contributions to the development of Quantum Mechanics and received a Nobel prize in 1933 for hsi work in wave mechanics. He even submitted a scholarly paper WHILE fighting on the Italian front in WWII !

And of course, there’s the famous “cat in a box” thought experiment.

He was a contemporary of Einstein and Planck, who both praised his work:

The work was indeed received with great acclaim. Planck described it as:-

... epoch-making work.

Einstein wrote:-

... the idea of your work springs from true genius...

Then, ten days later Einstein wrote again:-

I am convinced that you have made a decisive advance with your formulation of the quantum condition...
